Utilities: Public utilities and City Light together billed $524.92. Bill timing explains much of the increase; this is not necessarily a new monthly run rate.

Amazon: The $397.86 headphones purchase explains most of the increase. The remaining $796.78 was still $147.40 above September’s entire Amazon total.

Other larger outlays: The ticket payment and skiing purchase added $680.10, with no spending in those categories in September.

Groceries$2,142.01$1,140.37−$1,001.64
Household$456.40$204.07−$252.33

Groceries: A substantial improvement even before October’s $126 credit—spending was still $875.64 lower. Combined groceries and dining fell 28%, so the savings held up despite more dining.

Health & fitness: September had $1,056.41 in Ro Health and First Day charges that did not appear in October. Check billing frequency before treating the full drop as recurring savings.

Household: Spending fell 55%, with fewer of September’s home, electronics, and store purchases.

November outlook

November has a few things working in its favor, with Thanksgiving the main source of upward pressure.

Utilities should ease.

October included several larger bills. Lower utility spending could provide some breathing room in November.

Amazon refunds are expected.

Returns should help bring net spending down when the credits post. Their amounts and timing will determine how much.

No repeat ticket payment is expected.

Without another $431.37 ticket expense, November starts with a meaningful advantage over October.

Thanksgiving may lift groceries.

Holiday meals and hosting could push spending above October’s level. That can coexist with the substantial grocery improvement already made.

Lower bills, refunds, and no repeat ticket payment could create momentum, even with higher holiday food spending.
